Feed elbow, cyclone feed, or front sight attachment problems [98, Alpha Black, Project Salvo]
On the 98 Custom series, Alpha Blacks, and Project Salvos, the feed elbow or cyclone feed housing attaches to the body with 2 pins on the bottom, and then locks into place by latching on the front sight.
If your feed elbow or cyclone feed is not staying in place, check the 2 pins are installed and aligning correctly.
If your elbow latch is not catching, check the front sight. You should be able to push it down, and it should spring back into place. If this doesn't happen, your latch will not hold the feed elbow to the body. This can be caused by the front sight bolt being to tight, so the body is pinching the front sight, or the front sight spring is out of place, broken, or missing.
When installing the spring while reassembling the gun,
Check your gun or accessory manual and diagram for assembly and parts displays.

When installing the spring while reassembling the gun,
- Put the front sight pin in place.
- Put the front sight spring into the body. The short bend should be facing out.
- Install the front sight on the pin. As you slide the front sight down the pin, make sure you catch the front sight spring in the small hole.
- Apply pressure to the top of the front sight so the sight fits into the right side receiver half.
