Regarding Electronics for Tippmann Paintball Guns

Mar 27, 2024

As of March 25th, 2024, electronic boards for Tippmann paintball markers are currently unavailable across all sources.

What is an electronic board? An electronic board, also known as an E-grip, is a battery-powered component that activates a switch to fire the marker. These boards are programmable, typically offering modes such as three-round burst, full auto, and various ramping tournament modes.

Why are they unavailable, and will they return? At present, electronic upgrades for Tippmann guns, including the 98 series and A5 models, are not in production, and there are no projections for future availability from Tippmann or other manufacturers. Previously, electronic options were offered both as stock upgrades and from third-party manufacturers like Virtue and APE.

The scarcity of electronic boards can be attributed to several factors, including increased costs and impracticality for aftermarket production. The demand for electronic boards for other paintball markers, such as the Empire Mini and Empire Axe, remains high, leading to their continued availability despite higher price points.

Will electronic boards become available again? We remain hopeful. Tippmann markers are designed to accommodate electronic upgrades, and their resurgence will depend on demand and market conditions. Rest assured, if electronic boards become available in the future, we will announce their availability through various channels and offer them on TippmannParts.com.

If you are looking for an option to fire faster, The RT trigger is a mechanical substitute.  The Tippmann 98 Response Kit will allow short full auto bursts.
