The Response Trigger System is the ultimate big game fire power. The Response Trigger System increases your trigger speed by resetting the trigger and sear with excess gas during firing. This gas is used to operate a cylinder behind the trigger to do the resetting. The pressure of your finger on the trigger pulls it back to fire the next shot. The speed is determined by the amount of flow through the knurled adjuster on the side. The upper limit on the rate of fire is set by this adjuster.

The Response Trigger System will not make the gun fire on the trigger release. The rapid rate of fire is achieved by forcibly re-setting the trigger to the forward position even when your finger hasn't stopped pulling back from the previous shot. Then the trigger is ready to fire again and your finger is still pulling back so it shoots again. This bounce effect creates the high rate of fire.02-81 Cylinder Fitting

Feb 2009 - Some A-5 Basics with the new dual port right receiver were released with lower grip halves not compatible with the RT Kit.  If you order this and your halves are not molded for the RT Piston, the manufacture will provide replacements.  Contact them directly.

Feb 2011 - This kit now includes 1/8 inch hoses and fittings and the parts needed for upgrading all versions of the A5.

June 2014 This kit no longer includes the 02-81 Cylinder Fitting for use with the non-selector switch style safety. If you are upgrading a pre 2011 A5 you will need this part. See Related Items.

Feb 2024 - This DOES include the "T" fitting, which is used if you have a single air port A-5 (older model).  Current A-5's all have dual air ports and will not need this "T" fitting.

Tippmann Parts Staff Thoughts:

This is currently the upgrade that will allow the Tippmann A5 to fire faster than any other mod.  It will take a little bit of patience to assemble it into your marker, but anyone can do it.  You will need to play with the setting for optimal fire rate.  This will depend a bit on the operating pressure in the marker and the age of the marker.  Don't expect long strings of full auto fire, but you will get very strong bursts of full auto with the RT kit installed.
